On our way: el Camino de Santiago
My mom has always wanted to go on the Camino de Santiago, the way of St James. When my dad passed away in February, the idea became more urgent. To support her on this adventure, my brother and I decided to join her.
So here we are, groggy and early on a foggy morning at the station in lovely Lugo, waiting for the train to Sarria, where we’ll begin our 117 km journey, on foot, to Santiago de Compostela. This is the shortest and most popular trail, but it may prove to be more than enough for us. I’ll be keeping you posted on here; in the meantime, here are some photos so far of Lugo, which we’ve loved…
Buen Camino!

Hi Jennifer, Thanks for the message and photos. Traveling is an adventure with its ups and downs. It’s great that you are doing this with your mom. My brother always wanted to go on a safari so we joined him in Tanzania for 17 days and just got back. We saw tons of elephants, zebras, lions, impalas, wart hogs , colorful birds, hippos and a few leopards . The most amazing experience was climbing up Mahali Mountain to see the rare colony of chimps in the wild. We spent time with them in very close proximity! Much to tell.
Enjoy your trip and let’s have dinner when you return. Bestbto your mom.
Love
Karen
Suerte! Enjoy!
¡Gracias, chica! ❤️
Done and done! 💕✅ thanks so much, babe
Dear Pilgrims, I salute you! I love your blogs. Thanks for this one because we were just in Spain and I’ve been curious about the Camino. (We were in Andalusia, exploring ancient synagogues, mosques and baths, and of course churches and palaces all from a kumbaya time long gone.)
Sending wishes for your walk to be blister free and full of discovery. xoxoxEliza
Dear Eliza, thank you for reading and enjoying my blog. This trip would be the perfect experience for you and Ralph. I can’t believe you were just in Spain!! Let’s talk soon. Love, Jennifer
